Procedure of Custom Orthotics
We provide custom orthotics, which are specially-made devices designed to support and comfort your feet. They match the contours of your feet precisely and are designed for the way you move for utmost comfort. Before you get your custom orthotics, a complete evaluation of your feet, ankles, and legs will be conducted, so the orthotic can accommodate your unique foot structure and pathology.
A certified practitioner will evaluate you based on your diagnosis from your doctor. You will then be fitted for your orthotics by the practitioner who will explain in great detail how to don and doff the device. Your physician will assess you and will recommend an appropriate device. This may involve taking a custom mould of the anatomy involved. It is not necessary that the doctor will suggest a custom device. Sometimes pre-fabricated devices are more appropriate than custom orthotics. If your physician recommends a pre-fabricated device, a few simple measurements would be taken and the device would be fitted. We recommend you wear loose clothing or even bring a pair of shorts for your appointment, this will allow the physician to measure or cast you. Once they are finished, you are on the road to recovery!
