Once a child's casts are removed by the tending physician, the child is ready to be fit with the required boots and bars. Having the items in stock and readily available eliminates any wait time for the treatment process. Our orthotist fits the boots and aligns the bar according to the physician's prescription to ensure correct positioning for each individual child.
Along with custom making the majority of our orthoses, we also stock Thoracolumbosacral Orthoses (TLSOs), Jewett braces, Corsets, and many others as we realize the urgent need for these in the community when a situation arises.
For the treatment of scoliosis, we use the Boston brace system which we custom fit through taking a cast of the individual or by taking measurements. We place corrective pads in the optimal position through referencing the client’s x-rays to correct the curvature of the spine. Our clinic also offers soft Boston braces for thoracic control for clients with weak trunk musculature to help with their seating and positioning.
We offer numerous specialized bracing and orthotic solutions to aid in mobility and relief for lower-extremities, including but not limited to:
We frequently manufacture carbon-fiber, thermoplastic and conventional style metal AFOs to provide service and care that is suited best for our clients. We often see relief from our custom Charcot Restraint Orthotic Walkers (CROWs) for the treatment of diabetic ulcers and Charcot feet as we understand the importance of a precise cast and fitting.
We offer shoulder, elbow and wrist bracing to help with a wide variety of conditions such as tennis elbow, shoulder subluxation, and carpal tunnel. Depending on the presentation of the pathology, we can make custom made orthoses or use off-the-shelf orthoses to accommodate the issues present.
We are an Assistive Devices Program (ADP) approved vendor and can access up to 75% funding for most prescribed custom-orthotic devices.
As there is a cost associated with a prosthesis or orthosis, we will gladly work with you to aid in providing resources to assist in financial costs. We are registered providers with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Assistive Devices Program (ADP), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), and The War Amps.
